In an effort to help fight criminal injustice and re-imagine drug policy, Copperstate Farms has announced a partnership with Last Prisoner Project, a nonprofit coalition dedicated to bringing restorative justice to the cannabis industry, and committed to raise $100,000 for the organization over the next ten months.
Moms do everything, and they somehow make it look easy. Trust, it’s not easy to keep up with a home, excel at work, and have dinner on the table every night—and look good while doing it. So this year, treat your mom to something that can help her relax, unwind, and enjoy some well-deserved downtime, especially after the year moms have had. Because being cooped up in a home all year isn’t easy for anyone, but being cooped up in a home you have to maintain, while doubling as a teacher and a mother and keeping up with work, is even harder.

April is Alcohol Awareness Month, a time for compassion and open dialogue around substance use and abuse issues. Even if you don’t personally struggle with drinking, you’ve likely been touched by an epidemic that often goes underreported. Over a quarter of adult Americans reported binge drinking at least once a month, with an additional 6% saying they’ve consumed 4-5 drinks in a two hour span at least five times in a month.
While other students were doing research projects on World War II, Jarrid Reyes was digging into the world of cannabis. His passion for the plant started in high school and hasn’t waned since, and he’s been helping patients and customers explore their options as Retail Floor Manager of Sol Flower Tempe University for six months. We chatted with Jarried about his free thinking early years, his most memorable patient and his newfound interest in European architecture.
David “D.J.” Ladd understands the meaning of service in more ways than one. He brings a customer-first background to his job as Retail Manager at Sol Flower Sun City, where he’s passionate about helping everyone - especially combat veterans - find symptom relief through cannabis. Our conversation with David covers his family’s military background, his vape shop experience, and his belief that humans were meant to live off the land.
Now that purchasing cannabis legally in Arizona no longer requires a visit to the doctor first, you might be wondering how things are changing for literal card-carrying members of the cannabis shoppers club.
Dean Armijo knows what it takes to create appetizing experiences. As a corporate chef and restaurant industry pro, Dean made sure some of the most important people in Arizona were full and happy. He has a few different things on his plate now as GM of Sol Flower Sun City and head of our Signature Cafe, and his commitment to his team and his community is stronger than ever.
What do you get for the year that truly has it all? If we were doing the shopping, we’d gift wrap a swift kick out the door and a one-way ticket back to the demon planet from which it came. Yes, 2020 has been naughty, but the holidays are here to hopefully help us all end the calendar on an emotional uptick.
This year Last Prisoner Project will host it’s 2nd Annual Holiday Letter Drive and Sol Flower is excited to help. We need your help to raise awareness and ensure that LPP constituents know that we are fighting for them and that they have not been forgotten.
Preheat the oven to 350, dig through your kitchen drawers for that old can opener, and find a comfortable cushion on the couch: Thanksgiving month is upon us! While birds everywhere prepare to get basted, you can use this time to mentally prepare yourself for in-laws (even if it’s dinner-by-Zoom this year).
Arizona residents hoping for more legal means of coping with Election Day anxiety can take matters into their own voting hands today. Prop 207, also known as the Smart and Safe Act, would legalize cannabis for recreational use (21+), permit plant growth in private residences, and expunge cannabis-related convictions from criminal records.
Moryah McLaughlin is always on the move. As a General Manager at Sol Flower Scottsdale Airpark, Moryah is responsible for making sure the day-to-day operation is running smoothly and inspiring staff to be at their best. When she’s not at work she can be found on the trails by day and, once it’s safe again, dancing at the country saloon by night.
Sol Flower is participating in the Last Prisoner Project: Roll It Up For Justice Program. The Roll It Up For Justice Program is a nationwide campaign encouraging cannabis businesses to give patients the opportunity to contribute to the cause. Small change can make a big impact, and every cent raised through the program gets Last Prisoner Project closer to the day when every last cannabis prisoner is set free.

Sol Flower’s Tempe and Sun City locations both recently celebrated their one year anniversaries, and patients across the Valley have Dan Hayden to thank. We’re in this business to help our patients feel better. But we’d be lying if we said the kudos aren’t a sweet part of the gig, too. Last week a Sol Flower-carried strain, Jenny Kush, was recognized at the 5th annual 710 Degree Cup, part of the ERRL Cup awards series created to help patients receive safe access to medicine in Arizona.
Time for our midsummer Arizona temperature check: actually, no, that would require us to go outside. Triple digits are a mainstay for the next couple months, with the occasional monsoon (and haboob!) to make things interesting. But that doesn’t bother us, right native Arizonans? Beats shoveling snow, right transplanted Midwesterners?? Let’s all keep our cool and keep telling ourselves these things to get through.
You may have noticed that today is 7/10, which can only mean one thing: the worldwide celebration of all things cannabis oil! From wax to crumble to honeycomb, marijuana concentrates make up a booming sector of consumption that’s turning medicating on its head.
With no sports on TV and the Eagles world tour on indefinite hiatus, this has not been the best couple months for dads. Yours has likely had to re-prioritize a few things in his life, which means picking up new skills (learning how to voice text!) and spending more time at home (driving your mom insane!). Dad used to be able to simply retreat to his man cave to watch Jeopardy reruns and get away from it all - but 2020 has been more of a metaphorical man prison from which there’s precious little escape.
At Sol Flower, we want to do our part to help slow the spread of COVID-19 in Arizona. Out of an abundance of caution for our staff and patients, we will require a mask or face covering to be worn when visiting both the Tempe and Sun City dispensary locations.
Attention early-morning medicators and late-night herbalists: we’re expanding our hours to meet your every weed need. Starting this Sunday, June 14th, our Tempe and Sun City locations will be open from 8am-10pm every day. That’s all seven of them, if you’re keeping track!
Patient safety is our number one priority at Sol Flower. As it gets warmer outside, we understand the importance of staying cool, but are committed to providing a safe environment in addition to a comfortable one.
April is Stress Awareness Month. Let’s just say, we’re all very aware of our stress right now, so it couldn’t come at a more poetic time. Anxiety lurks with every essential journey outside the house, and the news we read from the so-called comfort of home isn’t helping things either.
The holiday season shopping clock is ticking down. At Sol Flower, we have just the items you need to fill out those wishlists for your buds this year. Shopping doesn’t have to be stressful, either - especially if you relax with our strains that are perfect for this time of year while you peruse our menu.
