National Ice Cream Month’s tastiest representative is finally here—National Hot Fudge Sundae Day! And while the designated holiday may not be an age-old tradition, the dessert itself certainly is. Uniquely American, this sweet treat has been served to dessert lovers since 1906, created at the C.C. Browns ice cream parlor on Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles. Since it originated in California, which boasts some of the greatest weed in the world, we figured it was only fitting to add a little THC to the already indulgent feast.
It’s fitting that National Iced Tea Day falls in June when it’s sweltering all day every day, but we’d be lying if we said we didn’t enjoy this tasty beverage year-round. And it’s not just us! Behind water, tea is the most consumed beverage in the world. That stat definitely includes hot tea as well, but contrary to popular belief, you can find iced tea outside the United States. It’s not super popular, but countries like Mexico and Japan do keep it in their beverage lineup. Maybe we should make June 10 International Iced Tea Day? We’ll start spreading the word...
When we first heard that today was National Chia Day, we immediately went to our garage to search for our old terracotta Shrek head. We found it and started watering it, excited but a little confused as to why Chia Pets were making a comeback, before we realized - oh, this day is probably about the nutritional value and not the novelty value of the chia seed. Our Shrek is blooming though!
The edible muffin is the OG of infused baked goods. Medicators looking for a tasty way to get mellow have taken to the humble muffin from top down for decades, likely owing to its unique crumbly/pillowy texture ratio. If you’ve been following along with our recipe posts, however, you know we’re not just gonna give you the expected confection and call it a day.
For legal reasons, we’re not allowed to say the name of the professional football championship game taking place this Sunday. But we can tell you that a great way to enjoy the action is by making yourself some infused guacamole, and putting it in, say, a super bowl.
Hope is on the horizon in 2021, and so is a snack you can wolf down by the handful. Chef Teresa Hansen’s Chile Lime Popcorn is popping off with whole Mango Chile Fruit Jellies for a sweet and zesty experience that would make movie theater butter bow down to its new flavor-blasting master.
We’re all about giving you a warm and fuzzy holiday season, so our expert infusers have been hard at work developing the next great innovation in medicated comfort. While we couldn’t quite figure out how to get cannabis into blankets, slippers or snuggies (maybe next year!), we did come up with the next best thing: Hot Cocoa infused with 4:1 CBD|THC tincture!
If you were born on the 20th-century side of the millennium, you may be inclined to describe a particularly excellent piece of news, work of art, or noteworthy occurrence as “sweet.” Those who came of age side-by-side with TikTok and Soundcloud might opt for a different adjective in response to the same thing: “fire.”
National French Toast Day falls just two days after Thanksgiving. Is this curious culinary timing the product of a fit of madness, or a stroke of genius? Either way you look at it, this holiday is not for the full of stomach, so here’s hoping you didn’t go back for that third slice of pumpkin pie after the rest of your family fell asleep.
Imagine the range of emotions that must’ve washed over the first person to find a pomegranate. From confusion upon first seeing it - is this an apple? An onion?, to disappointment after taking a bite of the skin, to shock after opening it, to complete and utter joy while eating each and every tart and delicious seed.
If taking a bite from the apple is mankind’s original sin, then sign us up for more naughtiness of biblical proportions during National Apple Month. Whether you stan red delicious or make a regular visit to Granny Smith’s orchard, chomping through the skin of this all-American fruit is one of life’s simplest pleasures.
Yeah Taco Tuesday is nice but have you tried National Taco Day?? The annual exaltation of all things tortilla shreds its celebratory cheese on us today, reminding a weary nation that all things are possible through warm corn shells.
If you awoke to the sound of buzzing blenders in the air, don’t be alarmed: today is Global Smoothie Day! Each October 3, smoothie-lovers around the world mix it up with local ingredients and interesting combinations to make blended delights that are good for mind, body and spirit.
If you’re anything like us, you’ve tried to keep your forays into the outside world limited to only the most essential trips. That means when you’re in the grocery store, there’s simply no time to linger in the dessert aisle and take in the sights and smells of bakery-crafted cookies (not like you could smell them anyway with that mask on).
Nothing says fall quite like curling up on the couch with a blanket, a good book, and a warm cup of green tea. Add Good Things Coming Lavender Lemon Drops to the autumn equation, and you’ve got a beverage that leaves pumpkin spice lattes in its steam.
When it comes to bananas, we understand the appeal (we’ll be here all week!). But seriously folks, the banana is a versatile and incredibly healthy addition to your diet. What other fruit can lay claim to a starring role in both pancakes and cream pie? Anytime is banana time, and we’ve got a drink recipe that will have you enjoying them by the bunch.
Go with us on this one: the strawberry is the most famous fruit. Symbolically portrayed in art, literature and song for centuries, strawberries announce their presence with passionate flair. Fields, wine, blondes - all of these take on a new meaning with strawberries attached to them. Pop culture has figured out what nature already knew - it’s hard to resist a strawberry.
Trail mix is a snack made for elevation. In honor of National Trail Mix Day, we’re helping you power up your next hike with a crunchy, protein-packed snack that adds Good Things Coming fruit jellies to an already delicious granola, no baking required.
If you like getting caught in the rain, making love at midnight, and you’re not that into yoga, chances are you might also enjoy pina coladas. While this theory hasn’t been tested outside of karaoke night, we think it’s pretty solid. Even if that description doesn’t fit you, you can still escape with our latest Sol Flower Cafe Signature Drink recipe, the oh-so-tantalizing CBD Pina Colada.
Today is National Waffle Day! While Belgians get most of the credit for popularizing this classic item, it was actually an American named Cornelius Swarthout who patented the first waffle iron on this date in 1869, making a big impression with breakfast lovers everywhere.
We can get so caught up in the modern trappings of life that we forget about the simple pleasures, the things that once filled us with so much joy. How have we gotten away from that form of pure happiness, and how can we reconnect with it? The answer is simply, really: make yourself a cup of hot chocolate. Duh.
If it’s been awhile since you’ve tried our Sol Flower Cafe Signature Drinks, you could use a refresher. And nothing’s better to beat the sizzle of August temps than the fizzle of Cherry Limeade infused with Lemon-Lime CBD from Healing Resources.
We may not agree on much as a nation these days, but Americans all come together on one key point: ice cream rips. In cones, cups or straight out of the carton like a lactose fiend, ice cream is a national delight enjoyed by 90% of the population. The existence of National Ice Cream Day on July 19 only further supports our collective embrace of this most chill dessert.
You may have noticed that today is 7/10, which can only mean one thing: the worldwide celebration of all things cannabis oil! From wax to crumble to honeycomb, marijuana concentrates make up a booming sector of consumption that’s turning medicating on its head.
Put your presents under the cacao tree, because World Chocolate Day is here! Whether you treat chocolate as an indulgence or a lifestyle, July 7th is an occasion to celebrate the sweet stuff in all its forms.
A gentle afternoon rainstorm. Putting on freshly laundered socks. Cat memes. Some things in life just cannot be improved upon. Ice cream was once on this very short list, too - but no longer. We found a way to make it better. Sure, sprinkles tried. Those fudge shells that harden on impact had a nice run. But no cone topper has ever made us feel closer to the deities of dessert than sauce made from Good Things Coming Very Cherry Fruit Jellies.
You’re no doubt intimately familiar with your own backyard at this point, since the number of places you can visit outside your home is, shall we say, limited. But look at the bright side: the backyard is where the grill lives, the lounge chairs recline, and the outdoor astroturf area rugs cover up the desert landscaping and provide respite from the heat.
As the great modern-day songwriter and poet Harry Styles croons in a recent smash hit, “watermelon sugar, high.” While carefree summer love does share many physical parallels with taking a bite from a juicy melon, we think Mr. Styles really penned the song as an ode to our favorite refreshing treat, infused Watermelon Popsicles.
What can you do with yuzu? Well, if you take the lead from Japan, where this citrus is especially popular, it turns out you can do quite a bit. Like bathe in it - yuzu juice in hot water works like bath salts to soothe the skin and calm the mind, and soaking in yuzu has been a Japanese custom since the 1700s.
Charcuterie. What a fun word. Seriously, say it out loud a few times: char - cute - ur - ee. The sound really dances on the tongue, just like the cheese and crackers that pair so well on its plates. Thanks to Chef Teresa Hansen, you can give your appetizer board a medicated upgrade with this fruit jelly goat cheese recipe.
In honor of a St. Patrick’s Day like no other, we’re hoping good fortune and great health are with you this year. With that in mind, we’re sharing one of our favorite recipes for celebrating the holiday. Edibles like a delicious brownie from Good Things Coming help manage symptoms of anxiety, which is a sweet relief during times when you’re extra on edge.
As teams begin the march to basketball supremacy this month, you have one important contribution to make as a fan: gametime snacks. While many will go the chip and pretzel route, you’re more thoughtful than that - in fact, you have a secret weapon that will not only taste great, but will temper the anxiety of watching your team come tournament time.
