About Chef Carylann Principal: A New Jersey native, she grew up in a melting pot of culture and food. Her love of cooking blossomed around age 12 when, as the youngest of seven, she began cooking for her large family. Before long she was working outside her home, honing her skills in the front and back of the house in catering companies, getting to know the restaurant world.
Culinary school was a natural choice. Chef Carylann attended The French Culinary Institute in New York at just 19. When she graduated second in her class, she proved to herself that if you want something bad enough and work hard you get it!
Hired 3 days out of cullinary school by New York socialite, Jain Wrightsmen, Chef Carylann trained as a second chef under Chef Michela Boulard, famous in his own right in the New York and London food scene. They spent 3 years traveling and cooking before returning to Ms. Wrightsman's Central Park residence to cook for the likes of Jackie O, Henry Kissinger and other New York elite. Travelling and learning under Chef Boulard was one of her greatest experiences of her life.
